Nossa Missão

At Mateo Gringo, we believe the world gets a whole lot smaller when people are willing to step outside their comfort zones and into someone else's culture.

That sounds inspiring now, but in reality it usually starts with confusion, awkward conversations, terrible pronunciation, and the occasional public humiliation. Trust me, I've tested this theory extensively.

What began as a personal journey of working alongside different cultures, coaching soccer, traveling, and learning new languages eventually revealed something much bigger. The moments I remember most aren't the places I've been or the words I've learned. They're the people I've met along the way. The blessing of my amazing wife. The conversations that started with curiosity. The friendships that formed despite language barriers. The laughter that came from getting something completely wrong and realizing nobody cared because we were learning together.

Our mission is to encourage more of those moments.

We want to inspire people to be curious enough to ask questions, humble enough to learn, and courageous enough to put themselves in situations where they might not have all the answers. Because that's where growth happens. That's where understanding happens. And more often than not, that's where the best stories come from.

Whether it's through books, football culture, travel, apparel, or simply sharing a laugh over a language mistake, our goal is to help bring people together and remind us that we have far more in common than we sometimes realize.

The communities that have welcomed us, taught us, laughed with us, and occasionally laughed at us have shaped everything Mateo Gringo has become. That's why we're committed to giving back. Twenty percent of profits are donated to organizations that serve and strengthen the communities we love, helping create opportunities, support local initiatives, and invest in the people who make these cultures so special.

At the end of the day, this isn't really about shirts, books, or football. It's about people.

It's about choosing curiosity over fear, connection over division, and understanding over assumptions.

Because the more we learn about each other, the smaller the world becomes.

This photo isn't about Brazil. It's not about clothing. It's not even about travel. It's about what happens when people from different backgrounds choose curiosity over fear and connection over assumptions. That's the heart of Mateo Gringo. Soccer fields, language mistakes, airport terminals, and cups of coffee with strangers taught me something school never could: the world gets a whole lot smaller when you're willing to learn from people who aren't exactly like you.

That's the heart of Mateo Gringo. Not products. Not sales. People.

Building connections through culture, curiosity, humor, and the willingness to look completely clueless for a while. But hey... If Colombia inspires you check out the collection.

Colombian Inspired

The goal was never to become an expert in another culture.

The goal was to make friends.

The languages, the travel, the soccer matches, the food, and the stories were just the excuse.

Somewhere along the way, strangers became friends, and different cultures started feeling a lot more like family.
